Nikki weighs on on some helpful advice for dudes on a budget – take your girl out on the cheap, and still come up big!
So you want to impress you lady-friends this summer, but you just can’t get ahead of a bad economy. We get it! So here are some super cheap, but seriously sublime summer dates that she will love.
The Lawn Cinema
Borrow a projector and rent her favorite movie. Pack a picnic and head for your front lawn. Use the projector to project the movie onto the side of your house. If you don’t have a white wall near your lawn, just hang a white sheet up instead. You can top the evening off with popcorn and soda or champagne and chocolate-coated strawberries. It’s cheaper than a movie and more memorable by far!
Creepy Crawlies
If your date likes horror movies, you can give her a real-life scare of your own. Pack a blanket and a picnic and your MP3 player and wait until night falls. Take her to your neighborhood cemetery and cuddle up on the blanket. Now you can share the MP3 headphones while listening to scary stories. There are tons of these online, but feel free to tell your own if you like.
The Scavenger Hunt
This one takes some foresight, so plan ahead. Pick a neighborhood she knows well. Go to all her favorite stores and ask them to hold clues for you. Each clue should direct her to the next location. Feel free to include tasks for her to do or puzzles she must solve. When she gets to the end of the scavenger hunt, make sure that it’s in a park, on the beach or a suitably romantic setting. Pack a fantastic picnic for her to enjoy.
Rooftop Soiree
If you live in an apartment block and have access to the roof, simply carry up some chairs, a table and some candles. Make sure that you use a tablecloth and the good dishes! Pick some flowers from the park and add a little mood music. Whip up an inexpensive pasta dish or pop a pizza in the oven and voila; best date ever!
