Vancouver - learn to cook and help the arts at the same time
There are things I tell myself I’m going to try every six months or so. Cooking classes are definitely on this list—I’m not a bad cook, but I’m not very skilled either. It would be nice to whip up something tasty with a little more variety than the Italian/pasta default I go to.
That perpetual putting off of cooking classes is one reason I’m really thinking about enrolling in the Arts Club Theatre Company’s cooking classes. But there are more reasons than that: these are celebrity cooking classes, featuring chefs from Vancouver mainstays like West and Fraiche, as well as TV chefs like Anthony Sedlak. Add in delicious wine pairings, a four-course meal, the fact that it’s hosted in a “beautiful private residence” (I love seeing how the other half lives) and several opportunities (from the end of May through July) to get in on the action, and I’m definitely on board.
The classes aren’t cheap–$125 per class—but don’t give up just yet. Because the Arts Club hosts these classes, you’re helping to support Vancouver’s biggest and best theatre company at the same time. It might even be a tax write off! Mmm!
Here’s a list of the classes and dates. For more info, check the link above!
