The Yard Sale Trap

Is there anything more seductive than a yard sale? Ok, don’t answer that. Seriously though, it’s hard to resist the allure of a yard sale! Neatly stacked rows of treasures, just waiting for you to explore, discover and get a serious discount on some hidden item you didn’t even know you needed. That’s exactly the thing though isn’t it? You didn’t know you needed it….which means that you probably don’t need it! I’ll be the first to say that if you know you have a real need for an item, yard sales can be a fine place to acquire them. Just don’t fall into the trap! What trap you ask? The trap of paying for, and carting things home that will only take up space and never be used. Or enjoyed. Things that you throw out later, and wonder why you ever spent money on them in the first place.  Things that get stacked in your basement, or your garage and become a home for spiders and stray animals.
