Toronto's Beer Week
As Labour Day marks the unofficial end of summer in Toronto, local residents find ways to ease the pain in the most delightful way; meet Beer Week! Toronto has the glorious distinction of being home to a large number of Canadian beer manufacturers. It also has more pubs, bars, cocktail lounges, vodka holes, gin joints and beer taverns than you can poke a sharp stick at. After all, they need something to do in the long Canadian winter…
Beer Week is a non-stop adventure in hobs that cajoles through some of the cities most beloved bars and taverns and includes tours of all the best breweries. If this just sounds like a regular week to you, then Beer Week will up the ante and then some! Beer Week highlights to look forward to include:
- The “Beer makes history Better” tour
- Stone Hammer jams
- A Guided Tasting and Food Pairing with Robert Hudder
- Eat My Schwarz
- A Night of Beer Bromance
- Hopera: an evening of craft beer and song
- Cameron’s Auburn Ale & Oysters
- 10th Annual Golden Tap Awards
See the complete calendar of events here.
Beer week runs from September 14 – 22, and is both for the connoisseur and the consumer. You can enjoy amazing meals, moustache competitions, pub crawls, cheese and beers tastings, home brew contests and (the piece de resistance) the 10th Annual Golden Tap Awards. Here admission is free and the audience gets to sample the wares prior to the awards being handed out.
There is something for everyone at Beer Week and it’s a great way to explore new drinkeries, make new friends and try new brews. Most of the events are free admission and you can get to sample some really unique beers. Pick up a tour pass at participating venues and make the most of Toronto’s Beer Week.
