Got Craft? They do! Vancouver's upcoming craft art fair

Vancouver’s DIY scene is a pretty awesome one, and it gets stronger with every passing year. That doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t celebrate the DIY initiatives that we love. With that in mind, may I present Got Craft [http://gotcraft.com/vancouver]? This twice-yearly celebration of indie artisans and crafters descends upon the legion at Commercial Drive next Sunday, May 6. Like previous incarnations (they’re usually one each spring and winter) this promises to be a huge affair, bringing do

It's Oscar Weekend! The Mogo guide to the Academy Awards 2012

It’s here, cats and kittens! No, not Love Your Pet Day (though that’s this week, too), but that most beloved of annual celebrity pageants, the Oscars! This coming Sunday, I’ll be huddled around my TV, wine glass in hand, oohing and aahing at the dresses, the speeches and the general spectacle that is the annual ceremony. In my movie-loving household, watching the Oscars is an annual event that produces as much fanfare as Christmas (seriously). Every year since I was a baby, and even before, the

The greatest Canadian beer commercial you'll ever see

Budweiser Canada’s 2012 Super Bowl commercial is, without a doubt, my favorite beer commercial. They told two rec league hockey teams that they were filming a documentary on beer-league hockey teams, and totally lied. Instead they packed their regular rink with rabid fans, face paint, t-shirt guns and mega replay screens. Check out the video for the shock, surprise and a bunch of regular Joes turned into superstars for one night. H/T to the PuckDaddy blog [http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu
